BHS Students Win Honors at Scholastic Art Contest

 Congratulations to the following Graphic Design students who received honors in the 2019 Scholastic Art Contest:

Senior, Summer Jones, Silver Key on her Photography piece ‘Round and ‘Round

Senior, Jayden Willis, Honorable Mention on her Photography piece Catacomb Heart of Gold

Junior, Auna Heard, Received a Gold Key on her Digital Art piece Many Phases of Mama

Sophomore, Kayli Spickes, Received 2 Gold Keys, both pieces were Digital Art pieces (Twisted and Phony Phalanges) AND, she received 5 Honorable Mentions...2 on Photography pieces entered, (Decades of Layers and Rollin’ Still) 1 on a Package Design piece, ( Visionary Paradise) 1 on a Drawing and Illustration piece, (Child’s Eye in the Dark) and 1 one her Digital Art Piece, (Fear Not)

Sophomore, Yuvia Mojica, Honorable Mention on her Digital Art piece, All Different; All the Same

 

The 3 Gold Key winners will have their pieces moving on to the National Scholastic Competition next.  This contest is an online competition where only the Gold Keys compete against one another.  Gold Key winners will have the opportunity to upload artwork and a video explaining their work to be on the Scholastic website in the near future.  Students moving on to National competition have the opportunity to win Gold or Silver medals.  Students will be notified March 12 if they have won.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants who represented Borger High School and to their instructor Mrs. Kerr!
