PHYSICAL ACTIVITY POLICIES; SCHOOL HEALTH ADVISORY COUNCIL INFORMATION  

Borger ISD has a local policy concerning the wellness of our students and staff. These policies may be viewed by going to our policy online.

District policies (see EHAB and EHAC)ensure that elementary school, intermediate school, and
middle-school students engage in at least 30 minutes per school day or 135 minutes
school week of physical activity.

Current campus physical activities:

  • Paul Belton Early Childhood Center provides daily a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity
    through recess, sensory-motor lab, music, and P.E. class.
  • Crockett Elementary provides daily a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity through recess, music or
    P.E. class.
  • Gateway Elementary provides daily a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity through recess, music or
    P.E. class.
  • Borger Intermediate provides daily a minimum of 45 minutes of physical activity through recess,
    Band, or P.E. class.
  • Borger Middle School provides 45 minutes of physical activity through band or P.E. class.
  • Students must complete 2 P.E. credits in middle school.

 

Parents may request in writing their child’s physical fitness assessment results at the end of the
school year.

The district’s SHAC(School Health Advisory Council) meets four(4) times yearly.

All meetings will be at 2:00 pm in the BIMS Library.

and others on school campuses or at school-sponsored or school-related activities.
