Lone Finalist for Superintendent Selected
At a special meeting on Monday, April 21, the Borger ISD Board of Trustees named Daniel Fuller as the lone finalist for Superintendent.
Mr. Fuller currently serves as Superintendent at Sweeny ISD.
From Mr. Fuller, “Borger ISD Greater Community,
I feel blessed and honored to be named Lone Finalist as the next Superintendent of Borger ISD. My family and I are elated to be joining the best community and school district in the Texas Panhandle. I have been married for 17 years to my wife, Kelly and we have 4 amazing children, Jocelyn (16), Makenzie (12), Kylie (10), and Carter (7). My wife and I were born and raised in Midland, and I frequented the Panhandle as I have family in Southwest Kansas. I am excited to hit the ground listening and learning by submerging myself in all things Borger so that we can continuously improve our district and community together.
My educational background includes 54 Doctoral Credit Hours from Lamar University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, both from the University of Texas - Permian Basin, and an Associate of Science from South Plains College. I currently hold certifications in Mathematics 8-12, Principal, and Superintendent.
My experience consists of 17 years in the field of Education with 14 years of them in Administration and 10 of those being as a Superintendent. My classroom experience was in High School Mathematics which included Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and AP Statistics. The majority of my experience has been in rural districts, which prepared me well for this opportunity.
It is my hope that my leadership attributes of transparency, collaboration, consistency, and power-with partnered with my open-door policy will create a culture that allows us to BELIEVE together, ACHIEVE at high levels together, and to SUCCEED in all that we do together. The Fuller Family is ready for the beginning of what we hope to be a long and prosperous journey with the Greater Borger Community!
Daniel Fuller, M.Ed.”
Seventeen candidates applied for the Superintendent position. The Board selected 6 applicants for initial interview and then 3 applicants were invited back for a second interview.
Texas law requires the Board to observe a 21day waiting period before officially hiring a superintendent. If approved following this period, Mr. Fuller would succeed the current Superintendent, Chance Welch, who will retire in June after 15 years of dedicated service to Borger ISD.
